We started our project in Zaros, which is the island's agricultural heartland.

Your tree is located in the gorge of Rouvas, one of the little known ravines at the base of Mount Psiloritis. A stream tumbles from the peaks, once covered in a "secret" forest, now linked to the famous E4 trekking route which runs almost the entire length of Crete. Nearby there's a monastery to visit, a pretty lake filled with trout, and a fab taverna.

Esme's Grove, Corfu

Our tall, ancient olive trees on Corfu island have been rescued from destruction. The grove is hidden in the pretty hinterland of the north coast, close to a village called Agrafi.
